One of these huge lions is my avatar (©999cryptic). For those who are fit to make the 240 meter climb up the hill, it's considered a rewarding experience and a meritorious deed at the same time. My name is Ray Tomes. I have a lot of interests and so have divided some of them into several playlists. Wobbly Universe is all about cycles (meaning repeating conditions at regular time intervals) in every branch of science and human study. I have spent decades studying cycles in everything. Also called periodicity or cyclicity. Myanmar Gold is about the fact that S N Goenka learned vipassana meditation in Myanmar (Burma) and has spread it around the world. It includes videos from Myanmar. Just Thinking is about social, political, environmental an economic issues. aRTy stuff is a bit lighter being anything funny or interesting that I happened to film. Alternative Cosmology concerns sensible science that does not take the big bang as an article of faith. My apologies if you have contacted me and not got a reply. At times I have been very inactive on YouTube. Please try again if you are wanting an answer. I have done my best to clear the backlog. Have fun!

Stymied by the lack of further education opportunities – there are no film schools in Myanmar – as well as other constraints, many creative young people in Myanmar are crying out for inspiration and encouragement to develop their artistic skills. These talented people are also keen to support changes that are taking place in their country at grass roots level. Described by one local partner as a ‘milestone in capacity building,’ the European non-profit organisation Yangon Film School (YFS) aims to create a diverse media culture in Myanmar by training a creative young workforce that is also capable of meeting the audiovisual needs of Myanmar’s development sector. The Yangon Film School offers a range of audio-visual workshops for emerging Myanmar filmmakers that blends theory with practical, hands-on exercises. An inspired, dedicated team of international filmmakers comprise the tutor group. It is their aim to foster an environment of productivity and open-minded individual creativity
