She earned a BS in Kinesiology from Bowling Green State University and certification through the American College of Sports Medicine, as well as a MS in Exercise Physiology from The University of Illinois, Chicago. In 2002 she was certified in Pilates through The PhysicalMind Institute and opened Pilates PLUS Cross-Training Studio in Chicago which she sold after 12 years.
